Coombe Farm Sherborne – Digestate Lagoon
15/06/2022
Project: Digestate Storage Lagoon 4,000m³
Location: Coombe Lane, Sherborne, Dorset
Client: Coombe Farm with groundworks by MRJ Civils Ltd
Summary: We were approached to supply and install 1,615m² of our Landflex PE200HD 2.00mm HDPE (smooth) material, a highly robust and resilient lining impermeable geomembrane in conjunction with the Landflex G3000CBR protective geotextile to a newly excavated digestate storage lagoon measuring 30.0m x 40.0m x 5.0m deep with 35 degree internal batters. Our membrane solution complies with the Environment Agency guidelines.
Challenges: Our initial site inspection with walkthrough to the recently excavated lagoon, revealed evidence of slight embankment deformation under compaction in the made-up ground due to potential over-consolidated clay, soil creep and mechanical loading requiring minor re-profiling work to a small built-up slope section undertaken by the groundworks contractor in order to alleviate any future issues.
Our Solution: Our Landflex PE200HD 2.00mm HDPE (smooth) geomembrane solution fully complies with the Environment Agency guidelines and was installed by Butek Landline directly employed BS TWI certified trained technicians offering:
- High strength, puncture resistance and durability
- Environmentally friendly
- 100% UV stable
- Withstands any weather fluctuations heat and cold
- CQA and welded tested
This project was successfully concluded within the timeframe specified as four days.
“Great job by the guys at Butek Landlines a pleasure to work with them”
Jack Westworth: Managing Director MRJ Civils Ltd
